Series

Justin and the kids, same shoot as last post. Notice that Justin is conscious of the lens on him and he is trying to act "normal", but doesn't actually relax until Jake catches his attention.

Observations

A friend of mine who was recently introduced to my blog asked me: "Do you take pictures of people or just things?" My answer would be Mainly I am drawn towards places and still environments. I like to try and capture the details of the ordinary that we take for granted on an everyday basis. For as animated and ADDHD as I am, I appreciate the stillness and tranquility of an environment when no one else is around. I do like to photograph people in a candid environment, but I don't care for posed photos. No matter how much one tries to act natural in a posed photo it's never quite right. That being said, I do enjoy snapping shots when the the subjects aren't being self-conscious because the lens is staring them down. Below are some photos I did last summer of Brooksie and his kids. they were awesome subjects. Mayhap a bit later I'll pull together some other shots of live subjects for yah.
